The Marktlokal has been Markthalle Neun's in-house restaurant for over 100 years. Here, it has always been clear how important it is for a restaurant to be close to its ingredients and the people who produce and sell them. Cheese from Alte Milch, fish from Frisch Gefischt, vegetables and other assorted produce from the Plattform 2020 - that's what's on the table here. In the market pub, a tradition continues to this day with freshly brewed beer from Heidenpeters, various aperitifs, cocktails and seasonal food. Chef Björn Persson from Sweden has been with the restaurant year in, year out, giving the longstanding establishment a fresh new look. Even Mr Lehmann, from the same-named novel, had a good time here: Over roast pork and beer, he falls in love with the local cook Katrin. No wonder, because as we all know, the way to the heart is through the stomach.
