Street Food Thursday
Germany's first street food market - since 2013, every Thursday in Markthalle Neun.
The best way to get to know a place is through its food. When we're out and about, it's often the food served on the side of a road that sticks in our minds: uncomplicated, accessible, good - well, street food.
Since 2013, Street Food Thursday has shown that Berlin can do more than currywurst and kebabs. Every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Markthalle Neun becomes a platform for chefs without their own restaurant, but with ideas, attitude and skills.
Initiated by Kavita Meelu, Anna Lai and Tobias Bürger (Big Stuff Smoked BBQ), Street Food Thursday was the first market of its kind in Germany - and has since left its mark on an entire city.
