Johannes Heidenpeter laid the foundations for turning this Markthalle into a place for food production — the logical consequence: sausage, bread - then beer. Since then, he and his team have been brewing various delicious beers in the Markthalle's cellar, such as Pale Ale, Thirsty Lady and at least 10 other varieties. 

Using seasonal and fresh ingredients – such as citrus peel, elderflower or cocoa shells, he creates new beer creations in 1000-litre batch sizes. Sometimes light and summery, sometimes wintery and in between, beers with a particularly high hop content. You can sample this variety of beers and many guest beers at the Heidenpeters Bar in the Markthalle.
