Bengali Sweets

Location:

Süße Bühne

Bengali sweets are much more than just a dessert - they represent living tradition, cultural exchange and the art of sweet craftsmanship. Many of these delicacies are based on chhena, a soft cream cheese mixture that was popularised in Bengal under colonial influence. Through migration and trade, the recipes have changed and spread without losing their roots. But how is this heritage preserved, who makes the sweets - and under what conditions? Kratika from Sweets Palace invites you not only to try them, but also to take a look behind the sweet tradition.
