Production visit: Pasta e Basta

Location:

Mani in Pasta

Where handmade pasta's made!

Three men, one dream: the best pasta outside of Sicily. The three pasta fanatics: brothers Angelo and Gioacchino Celona and their good friend Lorenzo Corisi. The pasta: tagliatelle, cavatelli, fusilli, maccheroni, paccheri, and so on—all handmade in the nearly glass-walled workshop right in the heart of the market hall.

But who exactly are these three guys who’ve been bringing a little bit of Italy to your plate during your lunch break for years now? And what’s it like to cook Italian pasta in Kreuzberg? You can ask Angelo, Gioacchino, and Lorenzo all these questions and many more (when they’re not busy slurping spaghetti, that is).

Knock, Knock... Who’s There? Everyone!

The doors of Markthalle Neun are usually open. And yet there are corners, stories and ideas that sometimes remain hidden in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With ‘Offene Türen’, we make them visible.

How does a market hall actually work? Who is behind the stalls? Where is beer brewed in here, why does it smell of cake in the cellar - and what did it used to look like here 130 years ago?

With guided tours, talks, tastings and lots of little surprises, we open doors: to spaces and to people, to concepts and to stories. For all those who have known the Halle for a long time - and for all those who want to discover it anew.
