Production visit: Lemon Clouds and Rugelach

Location:

Goldmond Bakery

Cakes and more with Anne at the Goldmond Bakery!

This building, which is over 130 years old, is held together by solid masonry, cast-iron columns, and… cake. More specifically: by a stand offering wonderful baked goods that have been an integral part of Markthalle Neun for over a decade. For a long time, it was Annette Zeller who ensured sweet consistency here with butter, sugar, and plenty of patience. Today, it’s Anne Hoberg who runs the stand with her husband Jed—and with it, a philosophy: uncompromising craftsmanship, cakes without frills, but with soul and history.

You’ll find out what the legendary “Zitronenwolke” is all about and how it fits in the cake display case alongside babka and rugelach during the guided tour of the Goldmond Bakery! Oh, and of course, even more importantly: how do they taste? Don’t worry—you’ll find out then!

Knock, Knock... Who’s There? Everyone!

The doors of Markthalle Neun are usually open. And yet there are corners, stories and ideas that sometimes remain hidden in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With ‘Offene Türen’, we make them visible.

How does a market hall actually work? Who is behind the stalls? Where is beer brewed in here, why does it smell of cake in the cellar - and what did it used to look like here 130 years ago?

With guided tours, talks, tastings and lots of little surprises, we open doors: to spaces and to people, to concepts and to stories. For all those who have known the Halle for a long time - and for all those who want to discover it anew.
