Production visit: Following the trail of smoke signals

Location:

Big Stuff Smoked BBQ

Get thoroughly smoked at Big Stuff!

A huge smoker—there’s quite a lot behind it. Or rather, inside it. Specifically, juicy, tender beef and Duroc pork, slow-cooked to perfection, with amazing flavor. That’s Big Stuff Smoked BBQ—behind it all is Tobias Bürger and his team, and of course their smoker, which was specially imported from the U.S. and set up right here in the market hall. This quickly made them pioneers of Berlin’s street food scene and co-founders of Street Food Thursday right here in the market hall!

Sandwiches, brisket, BBQ—find out everything about the art of smoking and the highlights from the past few years of Street Food Thursday in our conversation with Tobi.

Knock, Knock... Who’s There? Everyone!

The doors of Markthalle Neun are usually open. And yet there are corners, stories and ideas that sometimes remain hidden in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With ‘Offene Türen’, we make them visible.

How does a market hall actually work? Who is behind the stalls? Where is beer brewed in here, why does it smell of cake in the cellar - and what did it used to look like here 130 years ago?

With guided tours, talks, tastings and lots of little surprises, we open doors: to spaces and to people, to concepts and to stories. For all those who have known the Halle for a long time - and for all those who want to discover it anew.
