Production Visit: To the Bread Bridge

Location:

Domberger Brot-Werk

Let's head to Kreuzberg's smallest bakery!

Finally, you can do more than just press your nose against the window of the Domberger Brotbrücke—you can actually take a look behind the scenes! And while you’re at it, sample treats like Beutebrot, Vinschgerl, or Seelen! Florian Domberger shows how great things (in terms of taste) can be created in the smallest of spaces: In the “Brotbrücken”—recycled shipping containers—everything is done by hand on just 25 square meters, from kneading the dough to baking the bread. Florian Domberger, the man behind the Brotbrücke, places great importance on good bread! So much so that he even had bread flown in during his eighteen-year stay abroad—and so much so that, as a career changer, he started baking bread himself. Always true to the motto: “With our hands and our minds, we turn flour, water, and salt into a delicacy: fine bread.” Sounds too simple? Check it out and get to know Florian!

Knock, Knock... Who’s There? Everyone!

The doors of Markthalle Neun are usually open. And yet there are corners, stories and ideas that sometimes remain hidden in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With ‘Offene Türen’, we make them visible.

How does a market hall actually work? Who is behind the stalls? Where is beer brewed in here, why does it smell of cake in the cellar - and what did it used to look like here 130 years ago?

With guided tours, talks, tastings and lots of little surprises, we open doors: to spaces and to people, to concepts and to stories. For all those who have known the Halle for a long time - and for all those who want to discover it anew.
