Limbé

Sunday 29. March

Bristol & Maike from Limbé bring the flavours of West Africa directly to Berlin - with specialities such as cassava balls, coconut balls, puffed puff and banana bread that reflect a delicious blend of tradition and innovation. Particularly popular are the fried plantains with caramelised onions, which delight with their sweet and salty combination.

West African desserts are based on local ingredients such as manioc, plantains and coconuts, which have been used in the region for centuries. During the colonial period, however, sugar and spices were increasingly spread by the transatlantic trade and the colonial powers. These ingredients found their way into West African cuisines and enriched the local dessert tradition. Today, desserts in West Africa are not only a reward, but also a symbol of hospitality and community. With every creation at Naschmarkt International, Limbé passes on a piece of this history.
