If you stand at Yusuf's stall, you will see nothing less than a sea of dates. Of the more than 200 varieties of dates worldwide, only a fraction make it to our supermarket shelves. Yusuf is changing that and helping us to learn more about this superfood. For example, each type of date has specific characteristics such as texture and sweetness. Whereas we are used to firm and dry dates, Yusuf offers us a whole range of different varieties: from the sweet and caramelised ‘Sukkari’ to the spicy and aromatic ‘Ajwa’ date, which grows on volcanic soil. Another speciality is the Superfresh dates, which are so creamy and soft that they melt in the mouth.

The fact that Yusuf found his way to dates was not just a stroke of luck for him: he has been tasting and selling the different varieties at various weekly markets in Berlin for several years now. His date products and raw nut butters can now also be purchased in his online shop. We are delighted to have his healthy cult fruits in our hall. By the way: you can sample not only the different dates, but also all the other products directly at the stand.
