Nikolaus Driessen, Florian Niedermeier & Bernd Maier

Florian Niedermeier and Bernd Maier, both born in Augsburg, brought two things with them from the south: a passion for good, artisanal food and the conviction that sometimes you have to break with tradition. Together with Nikolaus Driessen, who was involved in a neighborhood initiative to preserve the market hall, they took over Markthalle Neun from the city of Berlin in 2011. In 2025, they handed over management to Olga Graf.

Even before the market opens, the hall's gates open: The butcher counter, cafés, bakeries, and some shops are there for you early in the morning. And it's also worth visiting after the market closes – for example, for a glass of something, a pizza, or to soak up the hall's atmosphere.

Team

We believe that lively markets make cities more livable. That's why everyone contributes with their own particular strengths: facility managers keep the hall in good shape, market organizers plan daily operations and events, and finance and communications staff keep everything running smoothly. Together, we ensure that Markthalle Neun is a place where ideas grow, neighborhoods come together, and food culture is made tangible.
