Jonna Meyer-Spasche

As a political scientist, Jonna likes to look at the big picture. For her, food is political—and at the same time, the greatest pleasure is enjoying a home-cooked meal in the here and now. She has already advised companies on strategy development, helped build a network for diverse grain value creation, and been involved in the German organic umbrella organization for sustainable food production. Since mid-2025, she has been managing the food education charity of Markthalle Neun and and continuously expands its sphere of influence.

Even before the market opens, the hall's gates open: The butcher counter, cafés, bakeries, and some shops are there for you early in the morning. And it's also worth visiting after the market closes – for example, for a glass of something, a pizza, or to soak up the hall's atmosphere.

Team

We believe that lively markets make cities more livable. That's why everyone contributes with their own particular strengths: facility managers keep the hall in good shape, market organizers plan daily operations and events, and finance and communications staff keep everything running smoothly. Together, we ensure that Markthalle Neun is a place where ideas grow, neighborhoods come together, and food culture is made tangible.
