Fresh Finds!
Every month, we bring you our favorite new discoveries and classic market staples. In January, we went hunting for fresh finds among some of our beloved evergreens in the hall: Werner, Alte Milch, and Mani in Pasta!
At Werner: The Tasty Oil Treatment!
Werner doesn’t just have top-notch culinary recommendations for his new oils—our herbal wizard also knows all about their healing properties.
Mustard oil adds spice to salads or curries and revives tired muscles.
Rosemary oil, cold-pressed with sunflower seeds, elevates pasta and vegetable dishes while helping with migraines.
Hazelnut oil is perfect for dressings and desserts and even helps regulate cholesterol levels.
Tastes great, and it’s good for you too!
At Alte Milch: Quicke’s Cheddar is back!
How about a fresh breeze of cow’s breath? The Cheddar from Mary Quicke boasts a warm, grassy-green aroma, thanks to the careful pasture management of her cows. And it comes with history: The Quicke family has owned this farmland in southwest England for over 500 years, accumulating generations of cheesemaking expertise. Originally built up by Grandmother Quicke, the craft is now carried forward by the fourth generation of women in the family. A full 12 months of aging in cheesecloth creates that special rind and deep umami flavors. Simply delicious!
Bei Mani in Pasta: Form follows Sauce!
New to the fresh pasta lineup at Mani in Pasta: Conchiglie (Italian for shell). This pasta shape is a true sauce scoop, making it perfect for rich, hearty ragouts. And if that sounds like too much effort, you can take home not just fresh pasta, but also a jar of homemade organic Bolognese—or simply enjoy a warm plate right there in the cozy market atmosphere.
