It's all cheesy!

Every month we recommend our favourite new and classic products on the market. This month it's all cheese. The big cheese market at Cheese Berlin takes place on Sunday, but some vendors - from near and far - can also be found at the weekly market on Friday and Saturday. May we introduce them?

Long a firm favourite at Cheese Berlin, but now also at the big market every Saturday: the Spanish cheeses from Palacios & Palacios. The family has been rooted in cattle breeding, milk production and agriculture in Castilla-La Mancha for generations. Marta has brought this passion to Berlin. Since 2019, she has been working closely with small producers to present the impressive variety of artisan cheeses and culinary specialities from all over Spain - always with a deep connection to the respective region and its traditions.

One man, one cheese: Graziano and his Parmigiano Reggiano - mature and full of character. For over 60 years and now in its third generation, Graziano's cheese dairy has been producing certified organic Parmigiano Reggiano - always in close collaboration with local farmers and breeders. Special attention is paid to the protection of the white Modenese cow, an endangered breed of cattle that is the only Slow Food Presidium for Parmigiano Reggiano.

‘Behind every cheese is a pasture with a different green under a different sky‘, Fabio and Paula write about their cheeses - there is no shortage of romance at the Grassellis’ old family castle in Lombardy. This is where Fabio's hand-spun mozzarella, caciotta, provola and the ‘Blu del Lago’, a wild blue cheese made from the farm's own raw brown cows' milk, take us. As ‘Il Casaro’, he has mastered the art of natural cheesemaking - fermentation is even carried out using the milk's own starter cultures.
