Your donation will enable primary school children to spend a week at the Kochschule Neun - where children can experience and learn about good, healthy and enjoyable food together, from the field to the plate.

Over the past four years, more than 900 curious primary school children from Kreuzberg 36 have regularly visited Markthalle Neun. Their destination was the Kochschule Neun cookery school. Over the course of the food week, children learn everything they need to know to eat well, healthily and enjoyably - during six cookery courses and two visits to the garden and farm.

The children experience food crafts, sow seeds, harvest vegetables and herbs and learn about the everyday life of farmers. In the mobile kitchen of the cookery school, every child in a class has broken an egg at least once, prepared a dough, peeled and cut an onion and a potato.

The project strengthens the nutritional and health literacy of young people. The knowledge imparted about the origin of food promotes its appreciation. In this way, Food Week makes a local contribution to a more sustainable and fairer world.

Our aim is to enable many more primary school children from other schools in the neighbourhood and beyond to take part in the programme in 2025. To achieve this, we need your financial support.
