Adamos Tapas

Thursday 24. September

Tapas are the Spanish answer to the question: “What should we eat right now?” In Peru, small bites are called “piqueos,” but Peruvian cuisine is influenced by international flavors anyway. So tapas are a must on the street food menu. There are olives, artichokes, Manchego cheese, and Serrano ham to share. Plus fried, pickled, and breaded dishes.

Adamo’s Tapas Bar usually serves its food in Charlottenburg. For Street Food Thursday, they’re making a short trip to Kreuzberg.

The Andes & the Amazon,
Anticucho & Cotton Candy

Peru is high up on the international fine-dining landscape – but what would high-end cuisine be without markets and street stalls? Non-existent! The idea: to read cuisine as a flavourful history book. It begins with millennium-old Inca traditions from the Andes. Over the centuries, it has simmered alongside African influences, Chinese (Chifa) and Japanese (Nikkei) migration to become far more than just a colourful stew:

Ceviche, cooked in acid, meets the wok heat of a lomo saltado and fiery anticuchos skewers straight from the charcoal grill. An honest cuisine that connects the Pacific with the world’s migration stories.

With this Street Food special, we’re saving ourselves the plane ticket: Peru is cooking right in the heart of Kreuzberg. Grab a glass of chicha morada and join us!
