Successor sought for shop premises (formerly Salumeria Italiana)
Markthalle Neun is a place where food cultures come to life: a marketplace, a hub for production and education, and a crossroads for crafts and culture. It is a meeting place for many – housed in a historic landmark in Berlin-Kreuzberg. As our long-standing partner, Salumeria Italiana, is vacating the stall, we are now looking for a passionate successor. The 24-square-metre stall space offers scope for a unique shop concept. In addition, basement areas can be rented for storage and refrigeration.
The profile:
We are looking for a concept that honours the venue’s tradition and stands out with fresh ideas. Ideally, you’ll fit into one of the following categories:
Italian deli & speciality food shop: You’re passionate about honest products, source directly from small-scale producers and bring the diversity of Italy (or a specific region) to Berlin.
Specialist retail with character: We are looking for concepts with a distinct identity. Whether it’s Slavic-inspired specialities, modern Asian delicacies or other culturally deeply rooted product categories – we are seeking the ‘speciality shop’ model that stands out through its expertise and a carefully curated range. What matters most is the depth of craftsmanship and a passion for the product.
Important: The focus is on retail. A complementary, high-quality catering offering (light meals for immediate consumption, tastings) is encouraged and may form part of the concept.

A prime location: right in the heart of the bustling atmosphere of the historic and well-established market hall.
Infrastructure: The stall is already optimised for delicatessen products and a small range of food and drink options, but can be customised as required.
Audience: A loyal regular clientele from the neighbourhood and the borough mixes with food enthusiasts from across the city and beyond. Walk-in customers are guaranteed!
Network: You’ll become part of a community of producers and retailers who support one another.

Product range list: Which products are the focus? Where do you source them from?
Catering concept: What light meals and drinks do you plan to offer?
About you: Who is behind the project? (Experience, team, motivation).
Visuals: Sketches, photos or mood boards showing the planned design of the stall.
Open questions: Please also submit any open questions you may have along with your concept!
If we are convinced by your proposal, you will be invited to a face-to-face interview. We will also answer any questions you may have at that time.
