Ahead of the upcoming elections in Berlin, we are inviting the lead candidates from all democratic parties to join us at Markthalle Neun.

Our aim is to engage in dialogue, listen and ask the future government of Berlin:

• On markets and urban development: What role should weekly markets and fresh produce markets play in Berlin?

• On craft trades and business support: What specific support should be provided for small-scale businesses and the food craft sector?

• On social issues and community: How will the character of weekly markets as places for social interaction and learning be safeguarded – and how will you ease the burden on neighbourhoods that face the consequences of poverty, homelessness and addiction on a daily basis?

More than just markets – places that forge connections

We want to show policymakers just how vibrant, diverse and economically significant weekly markets are – and, specifically, how important this location is for Kreuzberg, the whole of Berlin and beyond.
